El Rincon De Rafael, Calle Polito, 78 

The bar is open from 7pm daily until late. The interior is modest but during the warmer months there is spacious exterior seating. It is a popular bar with locals and during the winter months Rafael provides a welcoming open fire. The bar is traditional Spanish as are all the bars in the village. The owner is welcoming and the establishment provides tapas and a good menu, the food is of a good quality. The Gambas Pil Pil is the best in the local area. Drinks are reasonably priced. Payments can be made by credit card.

 

Bar La Alberca, Calle Polito, 53 

The bar/restaurant is open from 10.30am daily. You can drink and eat primarily on a large spacious terrace during the summer and if you wish within the confines of a curtained area with heaters during the winter. The bar is constantly one of the more popular establishments in the village and if you have a large party of people it is always advisable to book a table beforehand. The bar is especially busy at weekends and if you require food it is usually advisable to reserve a table. The owners Paco and Juan are very welcoming and attentive. The ibar/restaurant offers a good menu and the food is of a good quality. Drinks are reasonably priced and the owners accept credit card payments. There is also the facility to buy the various lottery tickets.

 

Café Bar V&R’s, Calle Polito, 61

The bar is open from 3pm daily apart from Mondays. Access to the bar is from the street and downstairs, below Alberca. It has a spacious interior with comfortable seating. There is a separate room from the main bar that houses several computers for use by customers for a fee. Documents can also be printed. The main bar has TV’s and a pool table. Most Spanish sports are offered for viewing and on occasions upon request the owner Juan will allow the airing of sports from another country but usually only for special events and providing they are available. There is a large terrace to the rear that offers seating and entertainment via a TV. The bar does not serve food but is popular amongst the locals especially the younger individuals. During Carnivals and Ferias the bar becomes exceptionally busy. Juan and his staff are very welcoming and attentive. Drinks are reasonably priced.

 

Bar Convio, Calle Del Posito

The bar has staggered opening and closing times. The interior is modest with a few tables and chairs. Both tapas and more formal food is served. It is a busy bar and more popular with young adults. The owners are welcoming and attentive and the drinks are cheaper than most of the other establishments in the village

 

Bar Mancilla, Plaza De Poyos, 5

The bar is open from early morning until 3pm but closing can be later during weekends depending on the number of customers. The bar is small with few tables and chairs. There is seating in the square only a short distance from the bar entrance. There is a limited menu but the food is good and cheaply priced as are the drinks. The spirit measures are generous. The bar is popular with the older villagers and at times it can be difficult to find an empty table although The owner Jose is accommodating, welcoming and attentive with his pleasant disposition.

 

Bar El Pescaito Dorado, Plaza Alta, 4 

The bar is open from 6am daily until late but closes around 11am on Mondays. The bar is modest with a small seating area. There is a larger seating area on the terrace in the square. Juan the owner is friendly, pleasant and attentive. He serves assorted tapas and although there is no formal menu he will serve whatever your choice might be. The food is of a good quality and drinks at this end of the village tend to be cheaper. Many of the Ferias are held in the top square and during those occasions the bars in this area can be extremely busy.

 

La Peña Flamenca De San Roque, Plaza Alta, 5 

The Peña Flamenca is a social club or an association with members. There are branches throughout Spain and they are intended to highlight the art of authentic flamenco dance. The club in the village is open to both members and non-members although non-members have to pay a charge if the wish to view the entertainment in addition the food and drink for non-members is slightly more expensive. The establishment is hosted by Anna. The interior has a long bar and a small seating area. There is further seating directly outside in the square. The Peña serves traditional Spanish dishes and whether you are a member or not the drinks are cheap. The environment is welcoming and Anna and her staff are attentive. The opening times for the bar can be sporadic although it is open all day during the weekends and closed During Tuesdays.
 

Hogar De Pensionista, Plaza Alta 

The bar was historically as the name suggests for male pensioners. It is only during the last few years that women have been allowed entry and in fact now there are no restrictions as to who can enter and be served. The bar is hosted by Maria and opens most mornings with a break in the afternoon before re- opening for the evening. It is closed during Thursdays. The interior of the bar is spacious with seating. Tapas and formal dishes are served by Maria who is welcoming and attentive. There is small area outside the property which houses a couple of tables. The clientele are mainly elderly male villagers who do frown upon others not of their disposition entering the bar but once you become a familiar face they do relent, well some anyway.

Takeaways

Almost all of the bars in the village offer a takeaway service but many will not do home delivery.

There is a pizza takeaway that does deliver and that is Pizzeria Bartolini, Calle Encima, 47 Tel No. 683 342 911. They are open Friday to Sunday & Ferias from 7.30pm.
